Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today brings great meaning to me, to hear the words of Martin Luther King, Jr. I celebrate his birth and his life today, as I’m sure you do, too. Imagine what more he could have mlk-dreamaccomplished had his life not been cut too short. But let’s not dwell on such things, because we are blessed to have had him for as long as we did. And he accomplished greatly to say the least.

Dr. King says the only way to rid ourselves of hate is through love. And it takes light to rid ourselves of  the darkness. Let us find love and light, and rid ourselves of the hate in the darkness. “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.” ~Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today is a great day with great timing. Not only am I proud of those folks of all races I know personally, as well as those whom I admire from afar, I am proud of the black people I know directly and indirectly. If this past election is truly the last one, my president forevermore will always be President Obama for as long as I shall live. There is a great deal of light and love in his heart. He leads by example and honor, and with a calm to be admired. He often copes with a warm and friendly smile, and possibly a chuckle, when he knows that oftentimes the only way to relieve the discomfort and stress of difficult times, it takes just that. Need I say more?

You may not be with us today in body, Dr. King, but you live on in our hearts. I recognize a good heart when I see one. You have one to cherish that will live on. Humanity has you forever! I have you until the day I die. But who knows! One day I may have the honor to meet you. I hope to see you on the other side! With that, I shall say that this day is worth celebrating.
